My father Raymond V Maksuta grew up in Cliffside Park, New Jersey. After Pearl Harbor was attacked in the late 30s early40s. Both his brothers had been drafted, and he was left at home, this got pretty boring being home alone. I then asked my parents when I turn 17 on my birthday, I’d like to join the US Navy. After some delay, permission was granted. I went over to Church Street in New York City to take all the strick test requirements to join the Navy. I passed the tests then and was placed in the Naval Marine Engineering area from there the saga of Battles: Lost and Won begins.
