The book covers the life, and primarily the miliary campaigns of Thomas Fairfax, the 3rd Lord Fairfax of Cameron (1612-1671), a peer who fought in the English Civil War on the side of the Parliamentarians. There are seven maps of the military campaigns, and five illustrations from woodcuts embedded in the text. Markham was also the author of The History of the Abyssynian Expedition. Hardcover.
