Wilson is a 5 year old kindergartener diagnosed with leukemia. His life veers immediately from “normal” to emergency treatments during a 10 day hospital stay, and intermittent treatments during the several years following. Wilson always LOVED the parents use the metaphor of “firefighting” to help him use courage during the painful treatments, and the lonely isolation away from his school and friends.
